Financial Services Firm Strengthens Security Posture

A major financial services corporation used Stratusphere UX to gather accurate, near real-time data about its security status.

Selection Criteria

The customer had poor visibility into its security posture with data that was at least a day old and only 60% accurate. It had been using Stratusphere UX to monitor virtual desktops that provided near-real time data that was 99.9% accurate. The company decided to roll out the solution to monitor security for all its workspaces company-wide.

Track Security Posture

Stratusphere UX collects data on the status of a desktop's firewall, encryption, antivirus, and anti-spyware. In addition it tracks the last time the machine was booted, current versions of MS operating systems, application updates and versions, including the latest security patches.

Optimization

The company valued Stratusphere UX data, but needed a way to integrate it into the existing reporting structure. Because Stratusphere UX offers an API builder, this was easily done and the solutions metrics flowed into Tableau for reporting. They also set parameters to trigger alerts, and Tableau opened a ticket in ServiceNow immediately for imminent threats. Stratusphere UX is ServiceNow certified and can natively integrate into ticketing systems.

Results

The financial services firm now gets a comprehensive report on its desktop security posture that is updated hourly. The data is also 99.9% accurate, eliminating the need to inspect false-positives. The entire desktop environment, both physical and virtual, is monitored and all issues can easily be inspected through Stratusphere UX's standard features that provide deep forensic diagnostics.
