Company completes its best-ever year in 2013 with three back-to-back record-breaking quarters.
CHICAGO, IL, Jan. 21, 2014 - Liquidware Labs, the leader in desktop transformation software solutions, today announced that it ended 2013 on an extremely high note, with Q4 again setting a new record. Total bookings for the quarter increased 114% over Q4 2012 with sales of ProfileUnity up by 147%, and sales of Stratusphere UX up by 108%. The quarter was the third in a row of record-setting quarters, making 2013 the best fiscal year in the company’s history.
“Last year, VDI technologies, especially storage, improved greatly, and customers have made it through the worst of the learning curve,” said Chris Akerberg, President and COO of Liquidware Labs. “As VDI matures and deployments scale, customers discover that our solutions are ‘must-have’ to grow their environments, successfully expand them to include many more end users, and get to performance /cost levels that rival physical desktops. Overall VDI growth as well as our expanded success in the physical desktop space contributed to our stellar 2013.”
2013 vs. 2012 year-to-year comparisons broke out as follows:
- ProfileUnity sales were up by 129% over last year
- Stratusphere UX sales were up by 125% over last year
- Federal Business hit major growth up by 128% over last year
- Enterprise Deal Traction shot up significantly with the number of transactions up by more than 130% and representing close to 30% of overall bookings.
In addition, revenues from the Liquidware Labs Acceler8 Partner Program also increased significantly over 2012. “Partner business increased by 102%, as our channel increasingly understands the importance of our products to their desktop virtualization business and makes the financial commitment to represent world-class offerings,” said Akerberg.
2013 represented a banner year for Liquidware Labs in a number of ways, with the company starting the year by winning the Technology Innovator Partner of the Year Award from VMware. Other significant milestones in 2013 were:
- Launch of a new product – Flex-IO storage IOPS acceleration solution
- DOD Agency ATO for Stratusphere products
- Naming to CRN’s 2013 Emerging Vendor and Data Center 100 Lists
ProfileUnity, the company’s leading User Management solution, received a number of updates which helped spur record sales. User and Department installed applications were included to make more users compatible with VDI and to streamline VDI image management for Administrators. The solution’s graphical interface was updated to make the product easier-to-use and enhanced guided configuration was added to make the out-of-the-box experience seamless. Speed improvements were also realized through streamlined processes and smart data processing.
The Stratusphere products also received a number of key enhancements and features in 2013. Preview inspector functionality was updated with a new look, tabs to support the PC over IP protocol, host and storage-centric metrics as well as new usability features; such as drill-downs and interaction between inspector table and charts/graphs views. Further architectural enhancements were made in Stratusphere to support IPv6, and more than 600 security technical implementation guides (STIGs) were implemented. The Stratusphere Adaptor for vCenter Operations Manager was also launched last year, offering the ability to export machine-, user- and application-specific metrics into VMware’s management console. The Stratusphere line of products also was the focus of two key OEM agreements last year with a leading APAC Partner and with a top tier global systems integrator.
“2014 is shaping up very well for us as we anticipate an uptick in desktop virtualization deployments due to Windows XP EOL and the increasing need for organizations to provide flexible and much more manageable desktop environments,” said Akerberg. “Our products roadmap will continue to hone in on those features that can bring down the cost and complexity of VDI projects, as well as improve management of physical desktops, to provide customers with a range of desktop management options.”
